PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drive a control rod 1 by an induction motor 4, while ensuring the reliability or the like of a control operation. SOLUTION: The rotation of the induction motor 4 is decelerated by a reduction gear 5 so as to be transmitted to a position detector 6. The reduction gear 5 is formed of a nonconductive material. Thereby the position detector 6 is not subjected to an inductive noise by a rush current, which is generated when the induction motor 4 is started or stopped, and the reliability of the detection in the present position of the control rod 1 is enhanced.
