<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the completely clean, compact and inexpensive plasma engine and power system of long life and high performance capable of preventing the air pollution and global warming, and a mechanical system driven by the same. SOLUTION: The plasma engine 10 is adopted as the power system 12 of the mechanical system 14, the working fluid including gaseous carbon dioxide is sealed in a sealed cycle 26 of a plasma engine 10, the working fluid is pressurized by a compressor 24 and supplied to a plasma reactor 16, the plasma reactor is brought into contact with gaseous carbon dioxide to produce a mixture gas of carbon monoxide and oxygen. The mixture gas is burned in a combustor 18 to produce the working fluid of high temperature and high pressure, and the working fluid is expanded by an expansion turbine, cooled by a heat exchange 22, and circulated to the compressor 24.</p> |
