PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique through which display correction is conducted to obtain precise and good display characteristics. SOLUTION: Corrections are made for the display characteristics at a certain position on a screen which is divided into n1 and n2 in horizontal and vertical directions, respectively. In a first adjustment, adjustments are made for the coefficients of the terms having a variable x that is not more than k1 th (<n1) degree in the horizontal direction and a variable y that is not more than k2 th (<n2) degree in the vertical direction. In a second adjustment which is conducted right after the first adjustment, adjustments are made for the coefficients of the terms having the variable x that is not more than the k1 th degree and the variable y that is not more the k2 th degree. The first and the second adjustments are performed while k1 and k2 are respectively repeatedly increased with an increment of two. Note that the initial values of the k1 and k2 are zero. |
