<p>The gas sampler (10) measures the content of hot and humid gases. It is of the type which has a body (12) containing a variable volume sampling chamber (30) connected to a gas transfer feed pipe (38). The gas sampler is fitted with a electrical resistance heater (18) fitted in the body wall which prevents condensation of the gas inside the sampling chamber. The temperature of the gas inside the sampling chamber is controlled by a regulator (22). A movable piston (26) separates and seals the sampling chamber from a control chamber (34) inside the sampler body. The piston is moved by the pressure difference between the sampling and control chambers and allows admission and flow of the gas (G) in and out of the sampling chamber. The sampling chamber is covered with a material which is inert to the gases being sampled.</p> |
