PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device and an image forming device equipped therewith by which stable fixing ability is obtained regardless of ambient temperature around the device without prolonging waiting time required until starting fixing processing more than necessary. SOLUTION: This image forming device is equipped with a thermistor 35 detecting the ambient temperature around the device, and a fixing body and a pressure body provided in the fixing device 6 are set to be served for fixing processing after idly rotating for a specified time. The specified time is changed by rotational driving by a driving means for driving the fixing body and the pressure body based on the detected temperature by the thermistor 35 so that it may be longer as the detected temperature gets lower.
