PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a noise reduction circuit that can excellently reduce a noise level of a video signal. SOLUTION: A received luminance signal is stored in a memory, a noise component is detected from a correlation between a received luminance signal and the luminance signal stored in this memory, a 1st noise elimination processing to eliminate the detected noise component is conducted, and a 2nd noise elimination processing is conducted, where a non-correlation detection processing is used to discriminate the luminance signal into a period including only the noise and a period including the noise and a change component of the luminance signal, and the noise is subtracted from the luminance signal for the period including only the noise.
