PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feedforward distortion compensation amplifier suppressing a consumption current in a distortion amplifier 5 even when an excessive signal is inputted to the amplifier 5. SOLUTION: A distortion detection loop branches and input signal, amplifies one input signal by a main amplifier 1 to be branched, mutually inverts a branched main amplifier output signal and the other branched input signal to be combined to extract a distortion component signal generated in the amplifier 1. A distortion compensation loop amplifies a distortion component signal outputted from the distortion detection loop by a distortion amplifier 5 and limits current supplied from the power supply 31 to the amplifier 5 by a current controlling means 32 equally to or less than a current value assumed to be supplied when a signal inputted to the amplifier is excessive in the case a main amplifier output signal obtained by eliminating the distortion component generated in the amplifier 1 is obtained by mutually inverting the amplified distortion amplifier output signal and the main amplifier output signal to be combined.
