PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing liquid crystal display device with high quality display characteristics and without lowering of brightness and contrast due to spacers and a liquid crystal display device manufactured by the method by selectively scattering the spacers, in a liquid crystal display device utilizing a TFT(thin film transistor) substrate. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the TFT liquid crystal display device comprises scatteringly arranging the spacers between the TFT substrate and a color filter substrate, sticking the substrate to each other with a sealant, and injecting a liquid crystal into the gap between them. The method of manufacturing the device also comprises a step to dry the TFT substrate to be subjected to scattering of the spacers and a step to selectively arrange the spacerss on gate bus lines using electric attractive and/or repulsive force. The step to selectively arrange the spacer on the gate bus lines using the electric attractive and/or repulsive force comprises applying voltages to respective wiring of the gate bus lines and source bus lines formed on the TFT substrate separately and scattering the charged spacers thereon.
