PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anemometer which can be easily set in a duct, and a gas volumeter which uses the anemometer. SOLUTION: A tension is generated, when the wind blows a thread-shaped detecting part 12 which has one end fixed. A strain guge 14 connected to a free end of the detecting part 12 detects the tension applied to the detecting part 12, whereby the wind velocity in the duct 98 is obtained. Since the detecting part 12 is shaped like a thread, the part can be set easily to the duct. Moreover, since the whole thread-shaped detecting part becomes a sensor, an output proportional to the wind velocity in the duct can be obtained.
