PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the magnetic circuit efficiency and eliminate extra processes. SOLUTION: This eddy current type deceleration apparatus comprises a group of permanent magnets 2 supported counterposed with a rotor 1, mounted integrally to a rotating shaft and allocated, by providing a constant interval to a fixing/ supporting ring 3 to provide the magnetic poles in the mutually reverse direction along the circumference of the rotor 1, a movable support ring 5 to rotate provided counterposed the rotor 1 in adjacent to the fixing/supporting ring 3 and providing a group of permanent magnets 4, so as to provide reverse directions for the magnetic poles along the circumference of the rotor 1, a group of switch plates 6 provided between the group of both permanent magnets 2, 4 and the rotor 1 keeping the interval equal to the interval between the permanent magnets 2, 4 and a support body 7 provided between each switch plate 6. A bearing for supporting the movable support ring 5 to rotate by a prescribed angle is provided among the support body 7, fixing/ supporting ring 3 and external circumference of the movable support ring 5. Thereby, magnetic circuit efficiency can be improved, in comparison with the existing structure. This improvement can be realized with a low price surface process, and the extra processes for accuracy improvement can also be eliminated.
