PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp socket enabling a lamp-pin to be mounted on a socket body easily and surely and preventing the fluorescent lamp from slipping off from socket body even if a shaking like earth quake occurs. SOLUTION: The lamp socket comprises a socket body 1, a receiving metal body fitting hole 2, a receiving metal body 3 having a slip off preventing piece 3, and a pair of notched openings for lamp-pins insertion 4, notched depressingly from peripheral rim to the center, a pair of metal fittings 5 contacting a pair of lamp-pins of fluorescent lamp, a movable part 6 with elasticity in the direction of lamp axis, a lamp-pin connecting part 7 connecting the lamp-pins in the state of clamping, and a power source connecting part 8 connected to the power cable. A lamp-pin connecting part is installed in such a manner that an opening for clamping faces a peripheral rim opening of the notched openings for lamp-pins insertion, at the back side of inner part of a pair of notched openings for lamp-pins insertion of the receiving metal body, and the movable part is installed so as to apply force to the receiving metal body at all times in the direction of front side of a socket body, namely in the direction of the lamp-axis.
