PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple oil application device composed of a smaller number of parts, capable of applying a lubricant evenly on the surface of a wire. SOLUTION: In the oil application device 1, jet nozzles 6a-6d for jetting oil are disposed around an oil application hole 5 formed in an oil application puff 4 which constitutes an oil application part 2. Oil is jetted out to be applied through oil injection pipes 7a-7d from hole 8 of the jet nozzles 6a-6d toward a wire 12 which is inserted into and run through the oil applying hole 5. In an oil scrape-off part 3, plural circular projections are formed inside a through hole 11 with prescribed intervals. The inner diameter of the projections is made smaller in the running direction of the wire 12. Oil is scraped off with the circular projections while the wire runs inside the through hole 11. In addition, an oil discharge hole is formed inside the through hole 11 for discharging the oil.
