PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key switch device capable of securely preventing the lower end of each link from projecting outward over the width of a key-top when the key-top is pressed down and from interfering with a posture retaining lever in guiding/supporting the upward/downward movement of the long key-top by using a pair of a links and the posture retaining lever. SOLUTION: A first link 4, a second link and a posture retaining lever 31 are disposed so that the sliding direction (opening direction) of the first link 4 and the second link and the axial direction of the axis 31a of the posture retaining laver 31 are the same. When a long key-top 2' is pressed down, the first link 4 and the second link are mutually opened by each other in the longitudinal direction of the posture retaining lever 31, that is, the longitudinal direction of the key-top 2'. Therefore, the lower ends of the first link 4 and the second link are prevented from projecting outward over the width of the key-top 2'. Further, the lower ends of the first link 4 and the second link are prevented from interfering with the posture retaining lever 31.
