PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve durability to a dry process while increase of contact resistance of a lead terminal is restrained by improving durability to oxidation suffered in a process, regarding a lead head element and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: Either a metal protective film 5 having oxidation-resistance or a metal protective film 5 wherein oxide has conductivity is disposed on an antiferromagnetic layer 2 constituting an extraordinary magnetoresistance effect film 1 via a mutual diffusion preventing film 4.
