PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape reel capable of inspecting the accuracy of a flange accurately at a high speed by using an optical sensor. SOLUTION: This tape reel 10 is constructed in such a manner that disk- shaped flanges 12 and 83 are provided on both ends of a hub 81 for winding a magnetic tape 70. An area including an annular part roughly concentric to the flanges on at least one outer surface of the flanges 12 and 83 is formed to be a rough surface 14 capable of reflecting inspecting light.
