PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To elongate a service life of a rolling bearing used under high- vibration and heavy-load environment such as an alternator bearing. SOLUTION: In this bearing, a steel material of an outer ring 2, i.e., a fixed ring, contains 0.40-1.20 wt.% C, 0.7-2.0 wt.% Si and/or Al, 0.2-2.0 wt.% Mn, 0.1-3.0 wt.% Ni and 3.0-9.0 wt.% Cr. The steel material has 9.0-17.0 wt.% chromium equivalent represented by formula: Cr equivalent= [Cr]+2[Si]+1.5[Mo]+5[V]+ 5.5[Al]+1.75[Nb]+1.5[Ti]. A raceway surface has a hardness above 57 HRC, minute carbide (of a diameter of 50-500 nm) is dispersively precipitated in the raceway surface, and a maximum diameter of the carbide is less than 10μm.
