PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor position detecting method of a permanent magnet synchronous motor, in which position detection is possible while continuity of a current is ensured. SOLUTION: In the permanent magnet synchronous motor driven by a three- phase AC power source, which is supplied by an inverter and performs always current feeding, the magnetic flux wherein magnetic flux of a permanent magnet of an armature of the motor is interlinked with a coil of a stator is obtained, and the rotating position of the motor is detected from the magnetic flux, which is obtained by integrating a no-load induced voltage. More practically, the no-load induced voltage is obtained from current and voltage of at least one phase of the three-phase AC supplied to the motor. The magnetic flux is obtained from a vector sum, obtained from the voltage and current. In order to detect the rotating position of the motor, specified phase timing of the magnetic flux, e.g. a zero-cross point is detected. |
