PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel capable of reducing a writing discharge current, luminescence and power, keeping a long life and minimizing errors caused by the adjacent cells. SOLUTION: The plasma display panel serves in display in each cell utilizing the luminescence by gas discharge and its data electrode is provided with a projection to produce the writing discharge at the parts overlapped by the data electrode and scanning electrodes when viewed from the panel front to reduce the writing discharge region.
