The leading frame section (3) extends from the front of the vehicle body by a predetermined extent. Towards the rear, a section of the rear frame (5) is located under the seat (6). These frames are joined by an intermediate section (4). Preferred features: Front and rear frame sections are made in fibre reinforced plastic, the rear frame taking the form of a parcel compartment. The front frame has an integral non-slip panel. This frame is a U-shaped molded shell, with transverse open structure at one end. Here a welded on, flat transverse panel of reinforcement forms a closed structure. A number of stiffening ridges rise from the base of the molded shell to be welded to this panel. The rear frame shaped as a compartment, has jointing regions below it, and is fixed to the intermediate section. To the rear of the compartment is a fastening point for a rear shock absorber. This is mounted onto the compartment via a panel contacting the rear wall of the compartment, with the lower surface of a wall projecting towards the rear of the latter. A seat is placed on the compartment, pivoting to it on a hinge axis incorporated in a transverse opening formed in a reinforcement of the compartment. The frame sections are formed by moulding in fluid state, commencing with a sheet comprising layered reinforcing filaments with intervening thermoplastic. |
