PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bidirectional chopper circuit which assures voltage and current of switching transistor to be as small as possible, even when a voltage boosting coefficient or voltage falling coefficient is large. SOLUTION: In the existing bidirectional chopper circuit, a DC reactor 9 is connected in series with the existing DC reactor 1 and is also coupled magnetically and this DC reactor 9 is connected between a transistor 2, for boosting the voltage and a transistor 6 for reducing the voltage. Thereby, not only the electromotive force of DC reactor 1 but also the electromotive force of a DC reactor 9 contributes to voltage boosting and voltage reduction.
