PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data conversion system capable of obtaining data conversion suited to terminal equipment and making it unnecessary for a server device to previously store the data conversion information of each terminal equipment. SOLUTION: In the case of sending a WSP request for acquiring the WWW contents 31 of a web server 3 from terminal equipment 1 to a WAP proxy 2, the restriction information of an image from the terminal 1 is added to the header information of the request. The WAP proxy 2 receiving the restriction information converts the WWW contents 31 obtained from the web server 3 on the basis of the restriction information. The data-converted WWW contents 31 are transmitted to the terminal 1.
