PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a power efficiency and fuel consumption of an automatic transmission with five or six gears for FF by expanding a torque converter direct coupling area. SOLUTION: This automatic transmission is provided with a first shaft 10, a second shaft 31, planetary gear devices 11 and 12 disposed on the second shaft 31, pairs of counter gears X and Y, three clutches and two brakes. The pairs of counter gears X and Y connect the first shaft 10 and each component of the planetary gear devices 11 and 12 and show different change gear ratios. Two components of the clutches and brakes are fastened selectively to control a power transmission path. The pair of counter gears X are connected to a first component of the planetary gear devices 11 and 12 through a first clutch. The pair of counter gears Y are connected to the first and second components or the second and fourth components of the planetary gear devices 11 and 12 through a second or a third clutch. The two brakes are connected to the second and fourth components or the first and the second components of the planetary gear devices 11 and 12 and outputted from a third component. |
