Novel benzocycloheptathiophene derivatives of the general formula wherein X is a hydrogen or chlorine atom and Y is a halogen atom or an hydroxyl or aryl- or alkyl-sulphonyloxy radical, are prepared (a) when Y is an hydroxyl radical, by reduction of the corresponding benzocycloheptathiophon-4- one derivative or (b) when Y is a halogen atom or an aryl- or alkyl-sulphonyloxy radical, by treatment of the corresponding compound, wherein Y is an hydroxyl radical with a hydrogen halide, a thionyl halide or an aryl- or alkylsulphonyloxy halide.</p> |
