PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the monitor of a traveling object and an obstacle other than the traveling object on a traveling path with a simple constitution without any error in the curve of the traveling path. SOLUTION: In monitoring an obstacle at the front part of a traveling path on which traveling objects 11A, 11B, and 11C are traveling by sensors 13A, 13B, and 13C arranged at the traveling objects 11A, 11B, and 11C, the patterns of the detection areas of the sensors 13A, 13B, and 13C are changed according to the shape of the traveling path.
