PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable video camera which can be held by right hand or left hand to perform photographing. SOLUTION: This portable video camera 1 is provided with an image pickup part 50 equipped with a lens 55, a video camera main body part 10 supporting the image pickup part 50, and a belt 80 extended along in the front-and-rear direction F of the main body part 10 on one side wall 13 of the main body part 10, fixed on the main body part 10 at both ends 81 and 82, and constituted so as to fixedly hold the base of the hand inserted upward V1 between the belt 80 and one side wall 13 of the main body part 10 opposed to the belt 80, and the image pickup part 50 is positioned on the main body part 10 and attached to the main body part 10 so that it can rotate at least by 180 deg. around an axial line C actually perpendicular to the top surface 11 of the main body part 10.
