QUARTS COIL SPRING AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quarts coil spring provided with a desired spring constant and a method for easily manufacturing the quartz coil spring. SOLUTION: In this quartz coil spring, a spiral coil body comprises a quartz band shaped body. In a preliminary process, a stem longer than an overall length of the coil spring and a wax filler embedding a space between the stem and an inner wall of a quartz tube are arranged inside the quartz tube. In a cutting process, the quartz tube is spirally cut into a predetermined width and depth along with the wax filler by a grinding disc while axially rotating the quartz tube via an end part of the stem for cutting out the spiral coil body from the quartz tube. The spiral coil body is warmed for melting and removing the wax and removing the spiral coil body from the stem. The removed spiral coil body is dipped in hydrofluoric acid for etching it to a predetermined thickness.
