A gearshift device (1) uses no force to transfer gearshift commands to a motor vehicle automatic gearbox via a gearshift lever (2) on swivel bearings in one or more gearshift channels, a detecting device for a gearshift lever position (P,R,N,D) and a transfer device using no force for gearshift commands to the automatic gearbox. A mechanism (5-14) forms a mechanical clutch between the gearshift lever and the automatic gearbox. It can also disengage the park position.
