The invention relates to a method for separating a fraction containing NE metals into the respective NE metals. Said fraction containing NE metals is treated with at least one solution of one or more inorganic and/or organic reagents so as to specifically surface-colour the individual NE metal part according to the respective NE metal. The individual NE metal parts of the fraction are then sorted according to the respective surface colouring, especially picked automatically.
