<p>A method and means of detecting elements in milk particularly useful for detection of mastitis in milk. According to the invention milk from a milking animal is passed through a sensor having a flow passage and capacitive elements which are coupled to a reactance circuit. Voltage outputs and/or frequency modulated waveforms are derived from the reactance circuit. By analysing the waveforms and detecting change in the waveform relative to that of normal milk it is possible to detect abnormal milk e.g. milk from a cow suffering from mastitis.</p> |
