The digital player, supplied from a vehicle onboard supply network, has an active liquid crystal display monitor used for reproduction of advertising films, short films, or standard images, which faces towards the rear passenger space of a passenger vehicle, e.g. a taxi. The operation of the display monitor can be controlled via the taximeter, so that it is only operated when a passenger is being carried.
