A grinding tool for grinding a surface to a predetermined shape, which is superior in operability and stability and capable of grinding a surface to a desired shape, and which comprises a rotary base plate section having a grinding surface for holding a grinding agent thereon, a plurality of movable base plate sections having a grinding surface for holding a grinding agent thereon disposed in the peripheral edge of the rotary base plate section and rotatable around a line of connection with the rotary base plate section, and an elastic member for urging the grinding surface of the movable base plate section against the grinding surface of the rotary base plate section in a direction to become flush therewith.
