VALVE SYSTEM FOR PROTECTING PRESSURIZER OF NUCLEAR REACTOR FROM OVERPRESSURE AND SAFELY DECOMPRESSING NUCLEAR REACTOR

PURPOSE: A valve system for a pressurizer of the nuclear reactor is provided to simplify a controlling and measuring system by protecting the nuclear reactor from overpressure and safely decompressing the nuclear reactor with one sort of valves, to rapidly decompress a reactor coolant system with a solenoid instead of a motor and to reduce the volume of the pressurizer using ideal fluid. CONSTITUTION: A valve system consists of a filling tank(20) filled with water with high pressure vapor from a pressurizer(10); a first and a second pilot cabinet(30,30') operating a pilot valve when the pressure of the pressurizer is more than an overpressure protecting pressure value; a first valve(40) opening or closing a passage between a main cylinder and the pressurizer by operating a valve piston(42) of a valve cylinder with the operation of the pilot valve of the first pilot cabinet; a second valve(40') opening and closing a passage between the main cylinder and a vapor discharge pipe by operating a valve piston(42') of a valve cylinder with the operation of the pilot valve of the second pilot cabinet; and a first and a second solenoid(34,34') electrically controlling the pilot valves of the first and the second pilot cabinet by a control board. Thus, the valve system protects the nuclear reactor of the pressurizer from overpressure and safely decompresses the nuclear reactor.
