PURPOSE: A method for transmitting the option message of a digital portable terminal is provided to transmit and receive conveniently a message between a message sender and a message receiver by arranging an additional option message-transmitting mode and transmitting the message according to the response of the option message. CONSTITUTION: If an input for selecting an option message-making mode is received(212), the option message-making mode is started(214). Next, a text message making process is executed(216), and an option response message making is executed(218). If an SMS(Short Message Service) transmitting input is received(220), an SMS message is comprised by combining the made text message and the made option message and transmitted(222).
