PURPOSE: Adjusting device and method for a skew of a pickup objective lens are provided to reduce time for a skew adjustment while precisely adjusting skew of the object lens. CONSTITUTION: A clamp of a spindle motor(401) is changed for an angle a to deviate a disk(402). Then, an RF(Radio Frequency) signal is detected through a pickup(404). A peak value of the detected RF signal is detected for conveniently measuring level of the RF signal. Then, a skew of the disk contains plus or minus a degree. The pickup adjusts skew of a pickup object lens(405) by using the peak held RF signal. In case of the objective lens deviated for the plus a degree, the RF level is maximized at the plus a degree. The RF level is minimized at the minus a degree. In case of the objective lens deviated for the minus a degree, the RF level is minimized at the plus a degree, and the RF level is maximized at the minus a degree. In case of skew of the objective lens at zero degree, the skew difference of the disk and the objective lens is minimized at ± a°.
