The invention relates to a method for the gluing of multi-layered sheets, in the production of lightweight constructions, for example, in chassis manufacture or in furniture construction. Caravans and motorhomes are constructed using multi-layered sheets joined at the abutting edge by means of so-called corner connectors. Said corner connectors are heavy, expensive to produce, time-consuming to install and subject to fatigue through the typical loading of caravans and motorhomes. Furthermore the core layers of the multi-layered sheets are not connected to each other. According to the invention, the novel method makes corner connectors superfluous and connects multi-layered sheets, easily, durably stable, wind- and water-tight and free from fatigue. The traditional mounting of furniture and separating walls in caravans and motorhomes causes fatigue and is extremely costly. Even here the novel method permits a durably stable, rational, neat and easy construction. The multi-layered plates are joined on the abutting edges by a glued joint made from resin. A long glue joint is created by overlapping the outer layers. Recesses in the core layer region permit the glued joint to function as a spacer and thus generate a stable frame, which makes the multi-layered sheet stable to pressure in this region. The gluing method can be used for the production of varying constructions and furniture, as a result of the multiple applications thereof, without any dependence on corner connectors. Various types of joints may be used to produce corner, longitudinal and abutting joints. |
