Use of liquid esters as defoamers for liquid hydrocarbons, e.g. lubricants

Use of liquid esters as defoamers for liquid hydrocarbons is new. Use of liquid esters of formula: R'-COO-R as defoamers for liquid hydrocarbons is new. R' and R : optionally saturated linear or branched 6-16C alkyl. An independent claim is also included for an additive for defoaming liquid hydrocarbons comprising 1-99 wt.% of the above ester, 1-10 wt.% triglyceride and 0-10 wt.% other additive.
