PURPOSE: A sound generating apparatus for a communication terminal is provided to offer bell sound and alarm signal having various effect sound and melody, and the number of the bell sound and the alarm signal in the communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: A sound defining part(110) defines the height, the length and the size of various sound in advance in order to make melody and effect sound desired to be transmitted. A sound processing part(120) processes and generates specific sound defined by the sound defining part(110). The sound processing part(120) also controls the height, the length and the size of sound to be generated. The sound processing part(120) may be comprised of an effect sound generating part, a melody generating part and a central processing unit. An amplifier(130) amplifies the sound generated by the sound processing part(120) up to a predetermined level and outputs the sound to a speaker(140).
