PURPOSE: A device for reducing a mask vibration of a flat cathode ray tube is provided to improve a damping property of the mask and reduce howling without influencing a screen quality. CONSTITUTION: A device for reducing a mask vibration of a flat cathode ray tube includes a panel of the cathode ray tube, a rail mounted to the edge of the panel. A mask which is attached to the rail and is formed apart from the panel by a desired distance, a damper wire which is formed and crossed to the rail to reduce vibration by friction with the mask, and brackets(82,83) for fixing the damper wire on the rail. An elastic part is formed on a part of the brackets. Therefore, the device for reducing a mask vibration improves a howling reducing effect without deteriorating a picture quality.
