Winter/summer operation of a heating and air conditioning system is controlled by a three way valve (7) which if it failed would send unexpected hot water to a cooling system (6) or a combined heating and air conditioning system (5) causing high excess pressures. The risk is reduced by a compressor bypass valve (13) on the cooling system and a pressure reducer by pass valve on the combined heating and air conditioning system. An Independent claim is also included for the method for setting up the heating and air conditioning system.
