<p>A method for the controlled thermal ablation of tissue comprises applying to the tissue a composition comprising a biocompatible material and a chromophore, and irradiating the composition with light of a wavelength which is absorbed by the chromophore. The absorbed light energy is converted to thermal energy, leading to a rise in temperature and destruction of the tissue.</p> |
