PURPOSE: A device for upgrading program of receiver and a method of the same are provided to reduce the memory size of receiver and upgrade a program of receiver stably by recording an execution program at a surplus memory which is prepared in an outer module connected to a common interface socket of a receiver. CONSTITUTION: A receiver(100) has a boot loader memory region(101), a first memory region(102) and a central process unit(103). The boot loader memory region(101) performs an upgrade function and a boot loader function. The first memory region(102) records an executed program. The central process unit(103) controls an address and a data process. An outer module(200) has an address decoder(201), a second memory region(202) and a third memory region(203). The outer module(200) accesses the receiver(100) with a common interface. The second memory region(202) records an upgrade program of the receiver(100). The third memory region(203) records an execution program of the receiver(100). |
