A shake correcting apparatus is provided, which includes a bottom board, a supporting frame for supporting a correction system, and electromagnetic driving means formed of a coil unit and a permanent magnet, and wherein shake correction is performed by driving the correction system using the electromagnetic driving means. In the shake correcting apparatus formed as above according to the present invention, a space for absorbing the thickness variation in the coil unit or in the permanent magnet is arranged on at least one of opposite surfaces to the opposing surface between the coil unit and the permanent magnet, so that a gap between the coil unit and the permanent magnet is made constant.
