Combinations of caspase inhibitors and complement inhibitors are described. Methods for preventing and/or treating transplant rejection, and in particul ar rejection of xenotransplants, involving treating the graft material and/or t he transplant recipient with a combination of a caspase inhibitor and a complement inhibitor are also described.
