DEVICE FOR LIMITING CURRENT IN CHARGING AND DISCHARGING AN ACCUMULATOR BATTERY OF A VEHICLE

The proposed device for limiting current in charging and discharging an accumulator battery of a vehicle can be used in equipment designed for maintaining the normal operational state of accumulator batteries, specifically batteries installed at vehicles. The device automatically connects a charge current source to the battery. The output current of the charge current source depends on the self-discharge current and the degree of discharge of the battery. As a result, an optimal level of the battery discharge is maintained, the possibility to maintain the rated capacity of the battery independent of ambient air temperature is provided, and the excess charge and overheating of the battery are prevented. The present invention provides the possibility to use the proposed device in combination with accumulator batteries of various types, improve the performance and extend the service life of accumulator batteries, and increase the operational reliability of vehicles with accumulator batteries.
