An indicating instrument housing comprises a resilient cup-shaped casing 10 closed at its rear end and open at the front, the side walls having a radially extending groove G providing a channel for receiving a transparent glass or plastic disc 12 so that its peripheral edge is contacted by the surface of the groove. The invention also describes a method of mounting the glass using an expanding tool T Fig. 4 (not shown) which forces the edge 10a of the casing outwards to allow the glass to fall into place so that when the tool is removed the edge 10a springs back to hold the glass in position. |
