1,120,176. Preventing corrosion during textile material treatment. VEPA A.G. 16 Feb., 1967 [24 Feb., 1966], No. 7413/67. Heading D1L. To prevent corrosion of a metal duct 2, through which a length of textile material which has been dyed with a liquid conrosive to metal passes in loose folded form and is treated therein with steam to set the dye, the duct is provided with a plastics lining. The lining may be sprayed and subsequently baked onto the duct inner wall, or may be in the form of a replacable thin walled plastics tube 10 secured at its upper end 10a to the duct. The duct is externally heated by steam produced by evaporation of a body of water 8 in the base of a shell 3 passing between the shell and the duct and thereafter through the duct. A head 4, provided with a pair of feeding rollers 5, is is tiltable for the replacement of the plastics tube 10.
