In the housing (1) is located a sealed combustion chamber (2) with a burner (3), from which vertical hot gas ducts (4) lead away. In a hydraulic circuit the housing is coupled to a heat consumer appliance via a forward (7) and return flow connecting union (8). The sheet metal baffle (9) is fitted between the return flow connecting union and the hot gas ducts inside the water chamber (5) in the housing, with the baffle being located opposite to the return flow union opening. Pref. the side edges of the baffle abut the housing.
