Process for preparing zinc ortho-phosphate with small particle size

The suggested process for preparing zinc phosphate with small particle size is characterized in that aqueous solution of a zinc salt is precipitated at a temperature ranging from 45 to 65 degC first with sodium hydroxide up to pH 9 to 11 and after adjustment thereof by acetic acid and/or phosphoric acid down to pH 6 to 7 it is further precipitated with the phosphoric acid at such a rate that pH 5 to 6 is maintained during precipitation and the precipitation is finished when the pH value ranging from 3 to 4 is reached.
