<p>A cooling gas ventilation circuit is provided for an endwinding (12) of a rotary machine having a rotor (10) and a plurality of coils (14, 16, 18, 20) seated in radial slots (22) provided in the rotor. The coils each comprise a plurality of radially stacked turns (21), the coils extending beyond a pole face (23) of the rotor to form an endwinding with longitudinal cavities (42, 44, 46) between the coils. A substantially cylindrical baffle ring (32) covers the radially innermost turns of the plurality of coils in the endwinding, and has a plurality of holes (40) therein aligned with at least one of the longitudinal cavities (44) between the coils.</p> |
