PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct heat-sensitive recording material of superior tone properties. SOLUTION: The direct heat-sensitive recording material is provided with a first recording layer containing a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a water-soluble binder and a reducer for the organic silver salt and a second recording layer containing the non-photosensitive organic silver salt, the water- soluble binder and the reducer for the above organic salt formed in the above order on a substrate, and the crosslinking level of the second recording layer is set higher than the crosslinking level of the first recording layer.
